I have the BRS 4 stage value plus. $170. Works as expected. I get 0-1 TDS out of the RO. My DI lasts 'forever'!

Cheapest I seen is the space saver from BRS for $90. It's only 3 stage but you still get 75 gallons a day.

Spectrapure refurbished are affordable and top notch units.. Buckeye hydro or brs are also top notch systems that are affordable.. Whatever you choose some things I can't do without are a pressure gauge and at least one tds meter.. I personally have 2 double tds fwiw. I run a maxcap90.
Only advice I'd give is to get at least a 75gpd unit. The lower the gpd the longer it's going to take to get your water when you need it. It's easy to say I only need x amount but in an emergency and just general usage I think you will Def appreciate the quicker fill time. Good luck on the hunt

Just for reference I have a 75gpd and it take 75 to 88 minutes to make 5 gallons of water.
