Anyone interested in going with me? I've never been, and want to see wheter it's as cool as people say.

It's ok. Though I think if you are going on a road trip just for keys you might not be too happy. I would also hit up the other ones in the area while you are here.

I might have some biased cuz I got whiped out from a fish I got there before I knew better so take my with a grain of salt. If they have a frag of something you want make sure to QT it or your bringing Ich home with it.

I still stop by to check it out on occasion, I don't see what the fuss is all about though.

If I was to do a road trip it would have to be to animal attractions in greeley.

Greeley is definitely a road trip. The cost of gas alone would effectively increase the cost of anything. I'll probably stop ar Reef N Pond too.

So are you saying you can get ich on fish from a coral frag? I did not know that, are you sure of that?
Chris

It's possible Chris, but unlikely. What's more likely is that there is already dormant cysts in your tank if you have never QT'd even 1 fish. I never would worry about bringing ich home on a coral. Flatworms, redbugs...these are the things that concern me. If I picked up a coral from a tank infested with amyloodynium I would be concerned, but cryptocarren irritans...it's everywhere.

yeah eric thats what i believe also, I think the ich will always be there and its up to the owner to keep the fish fed well, and the water quality high so the fish can stay healthy. Parasites are interesting little creatures, but the healthy ones can usually keep them away. The way i see it is they have been exposed to ich all their life in the ocean, and everyother parasite for that matter, they can deal with them, but not in an unhealthy tank.

I didn't go because of work. I'll call them in the morning and see if they're open. I'm a bachelor til Sat morning, so I have the free time.

well I'll definately go with you on friday! I am free and I know where all the good denver stores are at if your game?
Chris

Sure, but we need to make sure they're open first. Somehting I learned this week is the C Springs LFSs didn't place any orders because of the short work week. Denver could be the same.

o.k. well I cant imagine them all being closed, friday is a big shopping day for everybody. You can check and then let me know on Friday, later morning maybe I think they all open by 11:00.
Chris

I called Key’s Island, Reef N Pond, Neptune's, Quality, Sherman, and Premier. Reef N Pond's service said they'll open Sat at 10. All the rest either had no answering machine, or their machines didn't give holiday hours. I'll have to call in the morning, but I have a feeling not many will be open.

o.k. I dont see why they wouldnt be open? its not really a holiday that "retail" type places close, your call though just let me know in the morning.
Chris

Friday update:
Oceans Apart is closed today. No answer anywhere else yet. I'll try at 10 and then call it quits. I guess they don't think people shop for aquarium gifts today.

alright well let me know, oceans apart has only been open on saturdays for retail since they closed the monaco store location a couple years ago, so thats why they wouldnt be there today.

all the stores I called were open, so i am going to head out in a bit, anyone wants to tag along call my cell phone, i can pick you up or meet on the northend or something.
