No im not going to cook my rocks, I have no need to.

Nor should we see you always reccomending to do so, since you have only had your rock back in your tank for a month.

Your seeing a very short term success and after another 2.5 years and you dont have hair algae.. Then.. and only then.. would I consider it a success.



What are you going to say if in 6 months you have hair algae again?

I agree with Baalz. The long term success is the proof. I wish you would hae posted your initial water parameters in order to determine if the hair algae was an issue due ot your husbandry (no offense).

And if it wasn't due to husbandry? And this is a older and also a very very used method nowadays ...soooo I'd say there is your long term success with this method
 
"Cooking" my rock kept me in the hobby for an additionalike 8 years.

Of all the problems I had, not having hair algae was a Godsend. ☆☆☆☆☆
