Rock / Flower

Epicystis crucifer (rock or flower anemone) originate in the Caribbean/Atlantic/Gulf of Mexico. They tend to be hardy. They are not host anemones. There have been rare reports of sexual reproduction. They do not divided by fission from all reports I've read. They need good light, any intense lighting will work (MH, PC, t-5, vho). They aren't as particular about water quality as most of the other commonly kept species of anemone. They tend to stay put once they find a place on the underside of a piece of liverock where they can attach. They come in a variety of colors--green, brown, red. I feed mine squid, mysis, krill, shrimp, silversides, etc. and they are good eaters.
