Rock in sump?

Hey everybody

I know I've seen this quite a bit when watching some of BulkReef Supplies videos but now I can't seem to find it.

What is the rock that you can put into a sump? I'm not thinking about reef rock, instead there are some porous blocks that are sometimes used.

Reason why I'm asking is because I need to raise my skimmer up and instead of using some PVC I figured I'd use some rock.

Here's a link. It's made by MarinePure.

However it's very fragile. BRS says don't put under your skimmer or it will crumble. (I saw it in one of the videos.)

The same thought had occurred to me.

If you have enough room, I wonder if you could put a block under a shelf? I might see if that would work. I gather you can cut the blocks if you need to.
