Rock slide!!!!

So I have been setting up a 110 gallon tall aquarium for the past 2 months
with 150 lbs of live rock large and medium sized pieces and I finally got
everything where I wanted it!

Well I had a crappy day at work and I went home and for some reason a coral frag that dropped behind everything reallly bothered me last night. Its been sitting there in the back for 2 weeks now but last night it got the best of me and I tried to fish it out with a wire coat hanger. :mtool:

WELL I got it out and as I was pulling out the coat hanger I brushed against a

rock and  BOOOM :celeb3:

every damn rock fell .......:sad2:

It wasn't even a few pieces it was like dominoes falling one after another and LOL one on the very far right didn't fall and in my moment of rage I yelled at it and I went ahead and just knocked it over to.. :mad2:

So after staying-up all night I finally almost got everything back sorta where I want it.

And I am only missing 2 feather dusters!

I should of just left the lost frag alone.....

Oh by the way my names Matt I live in kingfisher oklahoma

Hi everyone!

Bummer dude,

But we have all done it. Time to drill your rocks and place plastic rods in there to hold them in formation.

oh yeah....... makes landscaping easy.. simple drill and some 3/8 plastic rod from Home depot. GAME ON BABY!

i used 1/2" threaded nylon rod and even made an acrylic base a few zipties and some epoxy and presto no fall! Good luck I knocked my other smaller tank down several times before and it pretty much sucked.

At least they didn't fall and break the glass....

Welcome to the forum!
I hope the rest of your holiday works out better!

LOL yeah that really would of made a mess

I doubt if home owners insurance would cover it either

thanks for the good wishes!

Every time I decide to "get in there" and fix something, anything, I say to myself, "self, you should just leave it alone, remember what happened last time." And then I ignore my self and cause a rock slide.

EVERYTIME. LOL

I think it is the aquascaping gods saying it's time for a remodel.

i have to ask what bit are you guys using to drill the rock i used my hammer drill and a concert bit and i felt like i was drilling through steel any ideas
