Keep in mind that the structure on the right side is still going to get small pieces on the bottom to taper off in both scenarios.

A or B? Comments?

I like "B" better. It does look like you may need a little more rock though as it has a delicate appearance to me.

I have a related question though. How would you keep the rock in this formation? I did mine with Aquamend and it didn't work well.

Aquamend and Superglue has always worked very well for me. As it sits it is very sturdy I can shake the tank around and nothing moves but I would glue a few parts.

I like B also.
Question...if someone said "I like A", how do you go back to A?
I've done very small tanks (6 gallon nanos) with a total of 10 pieces of rock and couldn't put it back in the same way...

Lol, I wrote down which rock I moved to where. For the most part it is added rock not moved rock. I know what you mean though I did the same thing once with a 28 gallon and was so irritated for about 3 hours trying to get the rock back to the way it was.

What're you keeping? Depending on what you've got intended for it will make a lot of difference to what works.

I was able to attend a rockscaping presentation by a professional and it really opened my mind up.

One of the points that he mentioned was following "the golden rule". I can't quote some of points that he made but you can review this link that I found as it outlines it in good detail.

When you see this in action in an aquarium you will understand how amazing these points make sense to the human eye.

Good luck!
