Rock

One of the biggest things to change I see if the availability of Live rock. I am looking at Marco ReefSavers dry rock, anyone use that?

Most of the dry rock out there is pretty much the same from what I've seen. If you're looking for the real deal, about the only place I know of to get consistent quality live rock full of hitchhikers is TBS: https://tbsaltwater.com/

I got the last several hundred pounds out of Fiji the week they shut down. I have 100 pounds of TBS rock coming soon, and 100 pounds of Carib Sea rock coming tomorrow. I'll get another hundred pounds or so when I get the 375 salty.

I've only been around for about 2.5 years and everybody managed to terrify me of what I might end up with from live rock so I used dry for everything.

True live rock is probably the most exciting thing I've enjoyed in my 20 years keeping reef tanks. Corals, fish and inverts are definitely cool, but the complexity and varieties of corals, algaes, and inverts found on live rock is really exciting.

Dave that is awesome. I am not ready for water yet. So I am not sure what I will be doing yet.

What do you need still to get salty? I'm gimpy but free to help, just let me know.

I need rock, media reactor, media filters or whatever for my sump and salt.

Plus I need to clean up my basement.

+1000!
There is simply no substitute for the real thing. Sure you may get some "pests" but the diversity of good stuff that usually comes with it outweighs those by far.
People need also to keep in mind that without live rock we would likely still not have SPS corals in our tanks as the first ones that actually grew well in tanks were actually hitchhikers on live rock, most notably the Stüber Acropora that pretty much started it all.
And then there is the fact that none of the current "substitutes" comes even close in porosity and especially micro porosity to ocean grown live rock, not even the Caribbean cultured rocks that are currently the only alternative that has at least life on it.

For my 40, I used dry base rock to start and topped it off with KP Aquatics live rock. Couldn't be happier with the amount of life that came on that rock. Plus, I got it delivered FedEx and didn't have to pick it up at the airport.

66 pounds of marco rock

And I kept some rock from 12 years ago I forgot about which is the second picture sitting in the tank.
