Rocket engineer's stand in 1x4?

I will soon be building a stand for my new 35g cube. I've built rocket engineers stand before for my old 120. I'd like to build it out of 1x4 for this tank. Would that be strong enough if skinned with plywood? I think so, right?

Why even use 1xs though...A simple 3/4 plywood box is more than sufficient..

All of the factory All-Glass stands in have encountered in my travels have been made of 1xs....Even the 180 gallon ones.

Assuming everything is square, and joined correctly, 1xs will be fine.

I have a 225 gallon tank that is supported by a 3/4" plywood stand. It's more than beefy enough
