I would also check nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia.

The only thing I regularly add to my tank is the Kalk via my ATO. I feed twice a week. I have been adding 100ml of Mg a night as it is lower than I want.
I used a dip test strip and nitrates showed up but not much.

When all else fails, go back to what works. I have reverted back to my 48" T5s. Next up is removing all the dead ones and moving those that still have something alive on them into the light. If things perk up, I will pick up retrofit kits to go the full 6'. Hopefully this fixes the corals. Time will tell.

Me too. Just three months under the LEDs appears to have wiped out two years of effort. Loosing the small frags was annoying but having the brain and two acans looking so poor is just heartbreaking. I started those from golf ball size frags and all three were about baseball size before things went wrong. We will see what happens over the next few months.

If you give them some time, they can make a come back, if you look in the rescue coral thread, I believe in the LPS forum, there are a ton of corals that I did not think would make it that look great.

Only one day on T5s and two of my acans already had more extension than they had all week. Good or bad, its something.
I have every intention of letting things go for a while. I'm going to pick up new RODI filters and a 2-bulb T5 retrofit kit so I can begin sizing things. If things continue to improve, I will make the switch an go with 8 or 10 T5s. A lot of bulbs to replace but if it works then it will be worth it.

So some of the acans have started to show extension and the hammer has spread out and doesn't look so annoyed. However I'm still seeing some corals loose polyps but hopefully I'm now at the bottom. I did a water change tonight as well as ordered new filters for my RODI and more GFO. I really hope things start turning around soon.

Without pictures, it never happened. Well five days after going back to T5, things have improved somewhat.
Since the only thing I have changed is the lights (I did do a water change but that was only last night), I would say the LEDs were the problem. :headwally:

Better now than after 5-10 years of growth and you caught it before everything is gone.

Sure, its nice to catch it now but it's still annoying. My biggest gripe is I don't know what caused it in the first place. If I were to do LEDs on a different tank what would I need to fix to prevent this from happening next time? I don't have an answer and that bugs me. Second, the LEDs were a lot of money that I could have spent on the T5s if I had known ahead of time. Now, I have a pile of parts that don't work. I might pull them all apart and reinstall the blues on different heat sinks as actinic strips instead. Something to think about.

Wow, sorry to hear about the tank. I had been following your 75g tank for quite some time, and had no idea about your 125g until yesterday! I hope the corals can make a good recovery, after all that work.

I did the upgrade back in February. The tank itself sat in the shed for almost a year before it went onto the stand. In one week the big acan is looking much better and the hammer head is definitely looking more like its old self. I still need to figure out what made it and remove what didn't.

The casualties:
Starting from the 51 corals I had, I have totally lost 13 with another 8 that probably won't make it. The only one's that don't appear to be damaged are the hammer head and the torch. :sad2:

Now I can build the frames to hold them up. I figure each side will go into a socket expander so two ballasts will turn on at a time. The plan is to be able to pull the frame out of the hood to do bulb changes. That's the idea anyway. We will see how things work out.
