Rocknut's 150 Envision

Great build and nice tank. How is pluming done from your tank to the sump, I see the one 90 on the drop to sump. Do you have any noise problem?

Thank you for the nice comments, and thanks for checking out the thread. Plumbing is pretty basic: each of the two drains go thru true union ball valves, and then drop straight down until they are level with the sump, go thru a 90 horizontally until they are over the sump drain compartment, and then drop straight down. Noise isn't too bad, but definitely not quiet either. Although, at this point the stand is totally open as I haven't added any wood panels, etc, to deaden any of the noise.

Thanks I'm putting together a 190 right now any starting plumbing.

I really like your set up. I have the same dimension tank as you and love it! How do you like your skimmer?

Totally agree on the tank size. Of course I would love to have an even bigger tank, but this size is really, really nice.
You know, regarding the skimmer, I have to say that when I ordered it, a big part of me felt like the world's biggest sucker. But, after selling so much old equipment, I was in the position to try it out, and figured the time was right. Honestly, in my opinion, it lives up to the hype. I have used several other skimmers in the past (EuroReef, ATB, Deltec, MRC), and this BK is really hands down the best I have used. That being said: could a less expensive skimmer perform as well, or 90% as well for half the price? I'm sure that is possible. Could it blow up tomorrow, and completely change my mind? Absolutely. But, after running it for four months, the quality of the skimmate this thing produces is seriously ridiculous. Also, as long as the sump level stays constant, it is completely set and forget. I haven't had to adjust, or tweek anything in three months. I have made myself break the whole thing down for a cleaning every 60 days, and will continue to do so, just to make sure I don't get any excessive wear on the pump, etc.

Just wanted to add one coral picture from last night. I got this from Diver's Den last week, and so far so good (knock on wood).

Acropora Formosa

It is fairly brownish-red, but I believe that is how it is supposed to be. Either way, I really like it.

On the Monti Nudibranch front, I fragged both of the affected pieces, treated with Revive, and put them on a frag rack. Figure I will do this each weekend for two months, then see where I am at.
