RODI unit

Hi, my RODI unit its a 6 stage , there seems to be more water going down the drain than in the good water container. is this the way its to work ? seems like when I slow the drain water down I get more good water , or is it bad to slow drain water to much?

it's normal for RO to reject (waste) something like 4-5x as much as good water it produces. I've never heard of restricting the waste flow -- I would guess that would lower the quality of the "clean" water.

This is absolutely normal. Restricting the waste line will lower the quality of the clean water and could damage the unit.

Do you have a pressure gauge on the supply side? When I added a boost pump and went from 36-40 to 75-80 my clean/waste ratio went up significantly, and of course, it take much less time to make water.

Normally a 75GPD unit will make 1 gallon of good water and 4 gallons of waste water. You can buy an upgrade kit with another membrane and youll then make it twice as fast and only produce 2 gallons of waste water for only 1 gallon of good water.

I am not sure. BRS has a good video on it you could check out. Or you could give them a call. They have also been very helpful when I have called with a question. Nice guys.
