yes i think i agree with the 18 months.

please i do not mean to scare you, but why are you surprised some may or may not dev. onyx color?

im not surprised but Rod gave me a statistic of about 90 percent develope the onyx color and the rest dont... it would be my luck i would pull the 1 in 10 that doesnt... we shall see... even if he doesnt develope ill love him the same, just the most expencive true perc i could have gotten... 116 with shipping...

Sorry this might be off the topic.

Rod is at IMAC this weekend! I got to see a bunch of little Onyx at his stand and was really impressed!!

He has at least three batches swimming together and some really choice babies!

I'm sure he'll have plenty to sell come Monday though, so no worries!!!

I didn't get any more of them, cuz I'm just completely out of space!!!

But, he has the most gorgeous corner setup I've ever laid my eyes on and I'm hoping to get him started on one for me real soon:

That way, I can showcase another pair..............

The prices were based upon age/coloration, but I'll bet you would have bought a bunch of them if you got to see them all swimming together like that!

Wish you were here for IMAC!

fiber! im jealous! ive only seen pics.

yeah i think im going to fly out to see him or to the next conf. hes at. im on call this weekend anyway so.

did he have any fully dev. ones? i was planning to go to tx for a reef conf. this year. ill ask him if hes going to be there.

fiber, you make room for them :) if i lived near him, i think i would prob have 10 pairs by now lol

Rod is a local legend around the western burbs , If you are anywhere near Chicago his place is worth the drive out to Dekalb. His hands on knowledge is a truely rare find, drills tanks, is the McGiver of diy, friendly, and a master of the surge tank.

embryoguy, I think you are all talk!!! :D

Here we have this little three-day IMAC conference a few minutes from O'Hare and YOU ARE NOT HERE!!!!!:p

You could see all the beautiful Onyx clowns from Rod, the Mis-bars and Picassos from ORA and even buy some tickets to win a first-time out of the farm beautiful new fish from ORA........

I think your priorities are out of whack!!!

Nest time, plan ahead! We'd love to see you and show you around the City of the World Champions!

:)

world champions !lol, yeah yeah, your lucky the phillies are a pile of ........!

the sox will prob win it again this year. thanks for offer. let me know if you of other conf. like that again.

its killing me........... did ora have alot of werid looking picassos?

i was told that most conf. do not have alot of livestock vendors so thats why i didnt plan for imac. i go to enough boring conf with lectures. honestly if i knew ora and rod were at same place i would of been there.:) i did asked ora a couple months ago but i thought they mentioned it was for vendors only.

embryoguy, I promise I'll let you know ahead of time when we have it again, but it's probably next year.......

Yea, I was really excited since it's my first IMAC. The vendors are great, but I really went for the seminars and to meet all of the visiting reefers - i didn't know I'd get the chance to meet and talk with some of the industry icons afrter their seminars!

Actually, ORA only had a few, but it's the first time I got to see everything they offer, all in one place! I'd like to win a few of the ORA livestock items that are being raffled, but that takes good luck!

yes yes PLEASE let me know next year than when you get the date. so i can plan for it.

how about i forward you $ for the raffle :)

jov sorry to say this, but im not sure if the third bar will ever be complete bec. it appears there is a black outline around it already.

from what ive noticed of juvs, the white bar will still dev. as long as there is no black outline. i could be wrong

I bought my male about a year ago. He faded a bit but has started to regain some color. He has not grown at all but I believe that's because the female he is with has remained very small.

Rod's a great guy to deal with and, regardless of color, I'm very happy with my perc as he's been incredibly healthy & hardy.

well said superbeagle.

i think we get all caught up in exact color traits. im very guilty of this myself. but when it comes down to it. if the fish is healthy and strong color everything else is secondary.

i notice in your male, that its body is very stocky . i find that typical of rods clowns. a trait i personally favor. ithis is not common in wc clowns. atleast the 8 or so wc si ones ive owned.
