Roe's Duncans?

I've always found that USPS tracking typically goes like "You have a tracking number!" and then when you look it up the only change\update is "package is delivered!" with no inbetween like fedex or ups has =\ its pretty lame.

Why are they raising stamp prices again? ;p

My roes order got delayed to tomorrow but I will check in with pics once I get everything in and acclimated.

With a strange stroke of luck I had put my name down on an ORA duncan list months ago and was lucky enough to have my polyp ready to pick up today :) Fingers crossed it does well.. looking awesome so far!

I got one from Roe's

Just got mine from roe's acclimated and in the tank. Can anyone tell me weather they like alot of flow or medium or very little. I have it in the front of the tank on the bottom in medium flow.

Medium flow is good. I'd leave it right there for now. They don't seem to be too picky about light or flow as long as the current isn't too intense. I'm acclimating my Roes frags now.

I acclimated mine and it is started to come out - medium height medium flow.. I want to wait for it to open until I snap a good pic. It is yellowy-white but I think after it acclimates it might color up a bit more esp if I feed it.

In the meantime here's my ORA one this morning that I picked up yesterday

Since then its opened up a lot more and is actually quite a nice sized polyp and its eaten a few mysis. Their mouths look tiny but their appetite says otherwise!

My clown is currently trying to host in my 2 headed purple duncan from roes.
Out of the 3 colors the purple seem to the largest myine are way over the size of a half dollar each

Well got my duncan from roe's last night and got it in the tank. It opened about half way before lights went out. Got up this morning and attached it to a rock. Now its only about an 8th open but its mouth is open almost the hole polyp size. It looks ligh a big gaping hole in the middle. Is it feeding right now or what. This is my first duncan so i am worried, becaust i have had it in the tank for18 hours and the polyp has not fully opened yet. How long does it take for them to get used to the tank. Thanks!

Was it that many polyps when you got it, or has it grown alot? Very nice btw. :)

I bought 6 polyps of the one one the right. I now have 10 with more babies. It grows extremely fast. Daily feedings are helping out a ton.

Got mine yesterday from roes, it took about 30 minutes to start opening in my tank :)
This pic is when it went in and then about an hour later.

Mine took 2 days to open try placing it in a bit higher flow area.
they have large mouths so I wouldn't worry about that.
they are tough as nails from my experience

for the life of me with this crappy camera I'm using (promise I'll try to get a better shot with hubbys super camera) I keep having to use the flash on stuff that isn't like, right next to the glass

Here's the best I could do for now of my yellow- its got a baby on its side sort of. It's like a slit that a little thing like a barnacle comes out and swipes the water from. Really weird!

hey guys are you having issues with flow? mine is so fleshy that too much flow and flows all different directions, I had to take mine down from the rocks and put it on the bottom for now, even on the bottom I had to move it around a little.

Yep i had to put mine at the bottom off to the side were there is almost no flow. I seems to love it there, it is open fully all the time.

nice growth...

I'm really thinking of getting some of these guys.. :)

most of my duncans are in medium to high flow. except this damn yellow piece that has not opened yet! and some new ORA frags that are recovering after the dremel!

I see that medium flow is good for growth, but does lighting matter that much? And how do oyu go about feeding them, best to spot feed them, and with what food?

First pic is a two week old ducans with agressive feeding (2-3 times a day HUFA brine shrimp).

Second pic is two week old ducans with daily feedings.

Pictures aren't really that good to tell the difference in size, but the first pic's size is almost the size of a half dollar. With signs of three babies, two near the crown of the head and one on the stem. The ducans in the second pic are about the size of a nickle with no signs of any babies forming.
