Roger,
I have only had this pump for a few months and it has been running great. Unfortunatly this evening it stoped running at all. I turned it off for a minute while I was doing a water change and when I went to turn it back on I got nothing. I tried plugging it into another outlet and I got the same result. I am very concerned about this since I have alot of livestock I am afraid is going to die if I don't get in running soon. Do you have any suggestions?

Does it attempt to start? My suspicion would be calcium has built up and it worked while it was running but being stopped it cannot overcome the added friction. You will need to open it and check. You have to be very careful opening it, the shaft is ceramic and while it is almost as thick as a pencil and you cannot break it with your bare hands, the leverage of the cover can break it. You need to cautiously pull the cover off with even pressure on both sides and the Oring seal creates a fair amount of resistance. Once you get it out, see what you find and make sure the impeller assembly spins freely on the shaft, remove any deposits with vinegar.

As long as you have circulation in the tank it should not be a life or death issue.
