i talked to you earlier at blackwood store,is the 6000 a good pump ,i might just go with that, what are the differences? i have assorted coral and fish? plus 6000 are a little cheaper

or should i get the new 6101,are there gonna be parts for the 6000, any other reasons to get the 6101?

The 6000 parts will likely be available for at least 10 years. FWIW I have parts for pumps we haven't made in 8 years. The only disadvantage is that the 6000 won't be able to use the 6101.50 safety connector which is a new item we have for adding battery back up to the pumps. You could however use an off the shelf computer UPS.

are the power cords the same length on both pumps, also if i use the magnet holder for the pump, can it work if i have a background on the tank, will it hold through the stick on background?

The pump looks the same, power cords are the same length (16ft). The 6000 is definitely much cheaper and if you will run it as a 6000 for a good while it wouldn't be a bad way to go. Upgrading a 6000 to a 6100 requires a bigger transformer, they used big bulky copper coils instead of the laptop power supplies of the 6101. To upgrade costs about $80. The old coil I think is more durable than the laptop power supply but the laptop power supply can be had at any electronics store in a pinch and they are cheaper.

No, but I still have a few dozen in stock and some dealers still have some, they were only discontinued back in July.
