roger ,help w nano skimmer

hey roger,went to clean my nano skimmer,its a few years old,so when i was done it wasnt foaming ,so i took out the pump and it turned on ,well i cleaned it some more ,then i turned on the pump out of water for a second ,worked fine,so i put it all back together and it wont turn on at all,i dont know what to do,i may need a new pump,and i could use a new small clear elbow,as it is so crusty and the tube its atached to, or could it be something else ? thanks roger,i have all tunze equipment ,they are the best !

Double check the 9002.400 nozzle, if you opened it for cleaning, you may have lost the white nozzle inside. Double check that the elbow is not clogged (blow through it). Make sure the airline is not pinched or disconnected from the top lid, if the top lid keeps popping up there is slack in the upper chamber that is likely pinching when you force it closed, just pull it down to eliminate the slack in the upper chamber.

Ok I did all of those things , I put pump alone in bucket it's not even turning on ? But it did turn on before I started cleaning, the only thing on the impellor is the impellor , it's spins free, everything is clean, I've had it 4 years ?

OK, in that case my best guess is a broken impeller, I am not sure if you have a 0800.040 pump or 1073.008 pump as this was around the transition time. Look at the image in the link, the impeller is the 50Hz 3 blade version for a 1073.008 but that is not important, in either case if the grey plastic disk under the magnet is detached from the magnet this will be the cause and a new impeller should resolve it.

I bought this one , this is the kind that has the square magnet on back that slides into unit , a few months later I bought one that had a round magnet on back , do you know which one this is ?

And also , you wouldn't hear or feel anything w it on ?

That would be half off an older 0200 Reefpack from prior to 2006-2008. The filter mounted on the other half of the magnet. It would have had a 0800.040 pump, in general if it is just the impeller the pump should hum or vibrate when plugged in with the impeller installed (even if broken). You may need a full pump.

Ok , how do I go about getting a new pump, I'd also like the tube and elbow too , I'll post the serial number in a few minutes off the pump

The elbow is the only complication as it is not listed online, please call to place the order. 512-833-7546. The elbow is $2, the nozzle is listed, part 9002.400, the pump model will be on the pump you have and you must get the same model.

Man I must have no luck , I've had two of the skimmers do the same thing, pump is pricey too, I have the real big tunze skimmer and stream pumps w controller no issue

hey craig, tunze charged 9.00 just for shipping ? this correct ? also i havent recieved anything ,any idea when i will get it ,or have any tracking info ? thanks craig

That is correct, we actually discounted shipping to the flat rate you would have paid ordering online, the actual ground UPS rate paid was $11.19. Unfortunately their is no cheap way to ship this pump, UPS was cheaper than the alternative Priority Mail which would be $11.50.
