Roger -- Osmolator Problem

Hey,

A couple of months ago I posted a thread asking what the maximum head is achievable using the stock osmolator pump. I was told that it could pump to a head of upto 9 feet. I just got the unit setup and this pump will not even push 5 feet let alone 9 feet. I was planning on having a holding tank for fresh water in my basement and have the top-off pump in the tank. My stand sits at 30" and the tank is 20" and then I had a 10G tank sitting 12" below in the basement. This is just over 5 feet and no water would come out of the tube upstairs. Am I doing something wrong?

You may have an air bubble trapped in the pump, tip it upside down when it is running to purge the air out. It should easily manage 5ft.
