Roger, this is OT but I wanted to ask you about Giesemann products.

Just curious what you thought about the new Giesemann pendants, specifically the Infinity series shown here: http://www.giesemann.co.uk/infinity.htm

I use only Giesemann lights at home. I don't think anything else compares in build quality or finish. It can be slow to get parts though. This has never been an issue for me as a I am a tinkerer and I restore old cars for fun, if you can build a car, a metal halide light is pretty simple. For the most part I think warranty issues are rare as I can't imagine too many situations where a ballast doesn't work for at least a year. After that you can swap them out for any HQI ballast you like rather than wait on special order parts. At home I have a custom built System 260 moonlight that is 6 years old and I have never had an issue with. I also have a Nova II running off a Ice Cap ballast, I bought it without ballast and just wired my own as the original ballast was given out to replace a bad one. From the stand point of just the look of the fixture you can't beat Giesemann, they are really well made.

I have a Nova II I bought from Roger in 2000 and it looks and runs like it is brand new. The finish is beautiful and the ballast is bomb-proof.

I also had a Nova II, bought from Roger 8-9 years ago, and did like it. One gripe about it was the limited spread. I really need a larger reflector as my tank is fairly wide. I'll give you a call tomorrow, Roger. Thanks.
