Here are a couple of pics shot tonight. First time for this. How about some advice please. What can I do better? I would like them to be sharper. There has been no PP on these. Thanks

A faster shutter speed would have helped a bit. Don't be afraid of post processing. It's neither "wrong" or "evil." Ansel Adams didn't take his film to Costco to get it developed. ;)

Nearly every image can be improved with a little processing. This is a quick levels adjustment in LAB color mode and then some sharpening.

You should also make sure that images for the web get saved as sRGB and not AdobeRGB.

Beerguy,
Thanks for the reply. I guess I am not opposed to PP but would like to get the Pre PP as close as possible as much for my learning curve as for minimal time on the computer.

What is LAB color mode? What levels did you adjust?

Everything looks good to me except the clownfish fins are a little blurry :) I'm by no means a professional, but they are good pictures.

Beerguy certainly did make the colors look better though.

Beerguy, can the things you did in Photoshop be done in Photoshop Elements? Or do you need the full version, CS3 or whatever?

LAB is just an alternate color mode, like RGB and CYMK. It's by no means necessary, it's just one trick that I use for adding some quick "pop"

I use CS4 but Elements, Gimp, and many other packages will do the trick. I actually do most of my work in Lightroom and highly recommend it.

With Elements 6.

I sharpened a bit more than Doug so you could see a difference, but yes you can do it with elements.
