Rose BTA has no mouth?

My RBTA has split around 4 times. The last anemone to do this never formed a mouth. It's smaller, has shorter and finer tentacles than the other "normal" anemones and is a brighter red-orange rather than a deeper red. It's been alive for months now and doesn't take to hand feeding like the others. Is this common?

Sometimes smaller pieces tear off and form into an anemone, initially without a mouth. Long-term, it will have to form a mouth or it won't survive, IMO.

So photosynthesis alone won't support it long term? It's been about three months now, I'll guess I'll see how long this mutant can make it. Thanks.
