Rose Bubble Tip split - how to move?

So...anyone have any ideas on how to remove a rose bubble tip anenome that recently split on its own accord? I guess I can say I'm a grand parent since this is my son's tank - lol. I have read a bit about using ice, water flow, etc but I think my bigger issue is do I want to really raise a fuss in the tank to relocate him/her.

But seriously, I have no idea if I even want to try it but I sure would like that little guy in my tank downstairs. I have been worried the last couple of days because the guy hasn't been out. Yesterday I was cleaning one of his power heads when I "thought" I noticed two buldges in its home area. I wasn't sure so figured the clown was pushing it. This morning I went to go check on it and found 2...and the clowns trying to figure out which home is which I guess.

Maybe I'll just leave it where it is and not worry about it. It is one large piece of rock with a few others on the side sitting on it. Zoa's are starting to grown to the back of the tank so it seems like it would be a mess. And I really have no idea how to move them anyway and I'd hate to damage the new fella.

The anemone on the top is the original. Fully spread is pushing 9 to 10 inches. The one on the bottom with the clown is the new arrival. I'd love to know what that fella is thinking because his home was up top, now it is below. Does he know there are two now and thinkig ***?

I would just leave it be. Even if you take the time to move it, it very easily could walk right back to where it was.

My rbta split and it started moving around because I was playing with my powerheads so they wouldn't have direct flow hitting them. I decided to remove it because it was getting too close to my frogspawn. So when I saw that it was attempting to move again was the day I decided to remove it. I basically just put my hand in the tank and carefully removed his foot from the rock that he was on. I removed it from my tank and gave it to a friend. My original rbta is now over 12" and its firmly attached to a big rock.

All I did was rub the foot till it came off the rock it was on but the rock was small. You also can point the powerhead directly at it and it will move and if it moves onto the glass it will come off real easy by rubbing the foot. Or just leave it I have two RBTA from mine splitting and my clowns will each sleep in one.

Thanks for the tips. Appreciate it.

I guess we will just leave it be and it will move on its own. If it moves to a easy accessable spot that I can reach without moving rocks, then I'll try it. As I mentioned I'd love to move it to my second Bio-Cube that is set up. If not, sounds like there shouldn't be a issue with two in there.

Have a good day all and thanks.

+1 on leaving it... if you were to remove it, I would recommend directing a power head to it, in order to disturb it.. but that might make the original move as well

I would leave it too.

That's a ton of zoas! They look like some wild caught tonga ones my LFS recently got in.

Thanks everyone for the advise and replies. We are just going to leave it. It closed up the last couple of days only to appear to move a bit. Now they are butted up to one another with the new one eating. I guess I'll just go buy my own :)

Regarding the zoa's. I honestly have no idea how they got in my tank and they are at least 7 years old if not more. The sad truth of the matter is that they are the only coral or living thing other than the sand that survived my 100 gallon crash. While on vacation Ca had a heat wave which lead to power outtages. Sump ran dry and nuked the tank. Was going to take it all down but my daughter suggested to clean what I could and see what happens. Needless to say the sand and rock came back really quick and the zoa's shortly after.

In fact, for the longest time that is all that was in the tank and they covered every rock and back of the tank wall. I later took a putty knife and removed what I could to give away. Took the tank down later and moved remaining rock and sand into two Bio Cubes (29 gallon) that my son and I had. Those in the picture are them :) I think they came from some live rock I bought from Harbor Aquatics back in the say because I don't recall putting them in there - lol. I only had frogspawn and a rather large Elegance.

Thanks again everyone and have a great day. The bubble tip will stay put :)
