I recently got this rose millepora. looks like rtn? how fast do these rtn? this is day 4 since I got it. it started as a small spot when I got it, I did not think much of it then. should I cut out a branch to save it? polyp extension is also very limited.
I recently moved about 50 SPS corals from a buddies tank to my frag/prop system...the rose mille is the only one that didn't make it...RTN'd like that in just a couple of days...hard to say the best action...sometimes RTN will just stop...if it was me, I'd probably try to cut the remaining "good" off in an effort to save it.
i have the same piece looks exactly like it too , i have to move it back to my main tank i had it in a holding tank and after a month just started it's clean so i hope that fixes it ..let me know how what you do and how it turns out
If the frag has stabilized to the point where it doesn't appear to necrosing any more, LEAVE IT BE! The silver lining is that the picture above shows you still have some zooanthelle left in this wounded frag. Let it sit on your rack for a few weeks to stabilize and then maybe then break it off the plug and mount it.
Monkeying around with it is a sure way to further destabilize what vitality is left. Leave it be and let it fight off the decline that got started from the acclimation process.
it looks freshly fragged and the move alone could have stressed it. cut the tips off a little above the rtn and hope for the best. do a few frags if you can hopefully one or all can make it. did you get it from a lfs. mine usually hold frags till they start to encrust. good luck
