Rough Lovin' clown and RBTA

I scored an RBTA over the weekend and put him in my tank, he plumped up before he ever got out of the cup and was doing great. Well, long story short he spent the night in the cup cause I couldn't get him out and the percula found him. They spent a romantic evening in the cup. Next day I finally convinced the nem out of the cup and onto the rock. Clown more or less left him alone at this phase. The nem moved to his desired spot and was doing great, then the clown moved it. It basically turned into one of this stories from a life time movie minus the stairs and er visits. My nem is now hiding under his rock, is there anything I can do (no, I'm not moving clown to sump or getting rid of him) discourage the over attentive clown until the nem gets a bit bigger? The nem is about 2 inches diameter on the mouth and the clown is 2.5 to 3 inches, if that helps.

Is there any way you could put a basket over it to protect it from the clown? Obviously the basket needs to allow flow and light to still get through

I actually built a box for it out of egg crate but it wasn't necessary, the clown backed off the next day and the nem has been coming out full and flush ever since. Keeping an eye on it, but I'm gonna let nature run its course.
