Router

This is just flat out wrong. Sorry man, just trying to help. Routers are in no shape or form the same hardware across the board. There is a night and day difference between something $25 and $250. To each their own.

Good luck!

Not quite what I meant.

I meant that each router with comparable tech has almost the same chipsets brand to brand and I've never had a good experience with any of them.

Asus, linksys, netgear, TP Link, Cisco, D-link, etc. etc.

I've had about every brand and everyone of them have died in a little over a year, a few less than that.

But almost all of them are just rebranded from the same boards and tech with a new logo and fancy box slapped over it.

Well, then you have the worst luck ever if you have had that many go out in 1 year. I play with this stuff for a living and never have I experienced anything close to what you are describing as far as reliability.

So far off topic...lol. sorry OP

Pretty typical of my luck.

Truthfully, I've tried all the big name routers over the years. I've gotten the best results and longevity out of a dirt cheap medialink I got from Amazon.

Yeah, it's true sometimes the lowest quality or cheapest wireless router can be use more that a year that the big name router. If I choose to cheapest wireless router but reliable and heavy duty. For me, the good thing is to stay there and not to change. Just like the wireless router I used from time past till now.
