royal dottyback losing colours?

I've had my dottyback for about a year and hes eating and all swims around harrasses anything taht gets near his cave but his colours just arent as bright as they use to be? would it be the food? i feed formula 1 pellets, formula 2 flakes, frozen mysid, frozen brine (treat only) and he eats everything... any other suggestions?

hes in a 70G with about 80lbs of live rock... params are normal with nitrates being at 10
 
Fish develop pigment to shield themselves from the light. If you have crappy low intensity lights your fish will look dull. You only see super colorful fish in tanks with intense lighting.
 
Royal dottybacks (Pseudochromis paccagnellae) has a tendency to lose color in captivity. It is most likely some sort of dietary deficiency. It certainly has nothing to do with the amount of light.
