Royal Gramma and Hawkfish best frenemies

My Royal G is hilarious. All day long he swims around opening his mouth super wide trying to scare other fish if they come near his spot. Honestly, it seems the other fish just ignore it now. My flame hawk will frequently sit near the RG's rock. The RG will open that mouth, and the hawk doesn't move. RG will move closer and closer and literally push the hawk with that huge, gaping mouth. Sometimes the hawk swims away, usually he just stays there. Hilarious. I love both those fish!

My flame hawk does the same with my clownfish. All the room in the tank, and he has to sit near the clownfish. My flame drives my clownfish crazy.

Yeah my RG does the same thing to the Melanrus Wrasse I put in a few weeks back. He's got a cave he goes into and when the Wrasse gets near he comes out open mouth and all....it cracks me up.

My RG is the same. It's a shame. He's so paranoid. He so rarely comes fully out of his cave and its usually just to charge at someone who swims by. Or to knock off a hermit crab who crawls near his cave entrance. None of the other fish take him seriously. He used to come out and swim around above the rocks. But he has gotten more and more paranoid as time goes on. He's so pretty and I barely ever see him. It's disappointing.

My LFS has a flame hawkfish that one chased a grouper straight out of the water.
