Royal Gramma and Orchid Dottybacks

I currently have a royal gramma in my tank. It was given to me as a rescue.
Either my tank or the guy was going to euthanize it because he was taking the tank down.
He had the fish for 4+ years and I've had it now for a year.

I've been wanting to add a black cap basslet, but I know that wouldn't end well, so I've been looking at maybe 2-3 captive bred ora orchid dottybacks.

Anyone have an opinion?

This is in a 240.

I have a matured Gramma that has been in the DT for more than a year. I added a captive-bred Orchid Dottyback 3 months ago, and I didn't see any aggression whatsoever. The Gramma was very curious about the Dottyback and approach carefully as to check it out.

I am considering adding more of the Orchid due to the beautiful coloring.

I've seen a chart that shows compatibility between fish species and it showed that Basslets and Pseudochromis were ok, but it didn't go into specific types.
I was just worried about the purple and body shape.

I had the same concerns, but it worked beautifully.

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i would think an RG and a Blackcap would be compatible in a 240G if thats what the OP still has. I had this same question awhile back for my 220 and was told the RG and Basslet would work.

IDK, but since they are both basslets and both have a rep for being cranky, I wouldn't think they would be compatible.

I have 2 black Caps, a an orchid (plan on adding another) and a pair of neon dottybacks with no issues in my 380. I'm also contemplating a pair of splendid dottybacks
