Royal Gramma disease or not?

Hello,

1. How old is this aquarium? 6 weeks Did Dr Tim's fishless cycle method with Dr Tim's One and Only.

2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level? 0ppm

3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured? 1.025 measured with Milwaukee Digital Refractometer

4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium? 1 week ago (This fish along with 5 Astrea snails..only creatures in tank.

5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How? No quarantine

6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When? Not using any medication

7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer? No hypo

8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color? Please see the pictures. On the right side of the fish, towards the top under his fin there is a slight discoloration that has been growing more apparent the last few days. The fish did not arrive with this last Sunday. He does camp out in the rock work with this side of him against the rocks...is it possible he is scratching himself when doing this?

9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish? The fish has not acted any different since being brought home. Swims out in the front of the tank, more towards the bottom. Does hide from time to time...is a little skittish, but nothing bad.

10. Is the fish eating? What? Actively eats when fed, both frozen Mysis and Brine Shrimp. Also takes flake food just as easy.

At this point, it just looks like a cut or a skin irritation from rubbing (which could mean parasites - a whole other problem).

Thanks Humble. It's my first fish ever so I'm watching him like a hawk...well, except I'm not looking to eat him.

My Nitrites are 0ppm and Nitrates are about 10ppm..per API.

Older thread, I know. What were the results? I have a RG that looks similar to this. I see a lot of posts asking this question, getting only a couple responses, then the thread dies. So, I don't know what to assume. Do all the fish immediately die, so the OP doesn't "need" to continue? Or, do all these fish stay healthy with just a skin irritation, so the OP doesn't care anymore?

This issue was due to rubbing. The RG had himself a nice little hiding spot in the back of the tank in a coral crevice that aligned perfectly with this abrasion. Once I figured this out I rotated the rock and he quit using this space and this went away after a few weeks.

He did die a month or two later, but it wasn't related to this as I had a couple other fish die within weeks of each other. :/
