Royal Gramma stopped eating

I picked up a Royal Gramma a couple weeks ago and he has been awesome. It was a bit stressed the first day but came around quickly. He has been eating like a hog since day 2. However, the past couple days he has been turning down food. I am starting to worry a little. He normally stays hidden in the caves but today he was swimming up close to the front glass of the tank. All parameters are in check and I did a water change last night.

He is currently the only fish in the tank and the LFS believe he may be constipated?

Mine is also a hog at feeding time. He has gone through a feeding strike twice though - about 4 days last week as a matter of fact. First time was in the QT when I first got him. He went 6 days without eating at feeding time. I have seen him "hunting" before so maybe pods are part of the diet as well. ??

Point is mine went without food in the QT for several days with no ill effect. Sorry it does not fully answer your question, but he should be OK for a couple days. Good luck

Thanks for your input but I checked on him this morning and he is flashing. I guess its the ick. I guess I will start reading up on best method of treatment.

I would also consider velvet as ich normally doesn't impair the appetite at an early stage.
