RPE's loosing color

sup guys, anyone know why they might be loosing there color?

i got then bout 2 months ago,bright red n always happy.. few days ago i noticed that they were more orange looking,they still open up fine n all,its just that it looks like they loosing there dark red color...

Generally RPE loses its color when it is light shocked, too much light too quickly. While RPE seems to be able to retain its color even when exposed to bright light (with the possible exception of the bluish center ring which will fade out) with proper acclimation, exposing it to bright light without proper acclimation often results in the colors fading over an extended period.

they been in the tank for long time now,they always look happy,even have some new polys, also always been in the same spot,lighting its automatic so its always at the same time on/off ...
when that happen,will they keep loosing there color till they die?

Its possible you got more light penetration when you ie...changed water, cleaned skimmer, or even added better filtration. That would cause the polyps to get light shock.

i think it was the lighting,i leave the daylights on for less hours every day now,n it looks like they turning red again...

Same thing happend to me. I took some from my display and put them in my 10" frag tank and they bleached fast. It was definitely too much light - to fast.
