Ruby Reef Kick-Ich and Rally

Just wanted to put my two cents in about these products and hopefully help someone from making the same mistake I made. Please pass this information around. I had a nasty case of ich. Purchased the "Rally Pack" based on a recommendation of my LFS. Well, after the second dose of Rally, I lost a starfish, an encrusting monti, an acro stag, a birdsnest, a candy cane and a hydno. I made sure to dose a little less than the recommended dose. These products suck. Guess what.. I still have ich.. It appears that the Rally was the product that killed my corals. The Kick-Ich is worthless. I hope others have had better experiences that I have. Just wanted to share. Thank you!

Yes, unfortunately there is no proven reef safe product that will work on ich. Sorry you had such a bad experience. I would tend not to trust your LFS quite as much.

You live and you learn. In your shoes I would be angry but that will do nothing now. The good news is that this site has many resources to help rid your tank of ich. Read all the stickies at the top of this section and you will be on your way to clearing up your problem. Dont write off the store yet if they have good deals but just be wary about the advice they give you. We have all had that happen to us and realize that experience is what helps us moreso than what a product says it will do. Good luck and ask questions if you are confused about what the stickies say.

Yes. You do live and learn! I knew that adding chemicals to a reef setup was a bad idea. Should have went with my gut. I just hate it when someone says "Yeah, I have used it before and it works". Haha. I am doing the only tried a true method now. I am sure I will be much happier with the outcome! Thanks everyone!

Thanks for posting this. People can be told that "reef-safe" products don't work; but nothing is as helpful as actual experiences.
