Rugosa Anyone?

Anyone keep Rugosa(Elephant skin) in their tank? I talk to my LFS and it seems no one wants them, and sold me a huge chunk of it for cheap. I wonder why? It is not a very common SPS.

I think it is bc they sting hard.

Indeed they do! I won't keep them, hydnophora, pavona or anything that's that agressive. They all have interesting growth patterns; they just like to play 'war' too much.

Anything that stings, you put it in the corner with the flow blowing at the glass and or away from anything prized and you can have any of the aggressive corals. Just takes a bit of observation and key placement. No biggie.

I've also used liverock plates set vertical to isolate stinging corals from other things.
