Running GFO/Carbo in sump???

I have 1lbs. each BRS Rox Carbon and GFO and do not have a reactor.

I plan on placing a filter bag in a high flow area of my sump.

Two questions;.. (1) can I use 1 mesh bag or 2 separate bags?
(2) how much of each should I use in my 24x24 SPS cube?

Personally if you have the room spend the money for a reactor. You will use less media and it will work 10x better. BRS sells them cheap and with Blackfriday/ sober Mon sales you looking at a great deal

+1. I use the TLF Phosban reactors. They are inexpensive and have worked well for me.

Right now I run GFO and Carbon in an Aquaclear 100 with a phosphate pad, would it be better to get a dual reactor or two seperate ones?

I would get 2 seperate ones as its easier to control the flow for each.

As for the op, i would use 2 diffrent bags because the gfo can last much longer than the carbon depending on your po4 levels

A filter bag will do just fine until you get a reactor. It won't be nearly as efficient, but it will get the job done.
