running GFO on a timer

Hello. I'm attempting to keep my PO4 levels between .01-.04/.05 . I get the best color and don't have to worry about burned tips, like in my past ULNS system.

I'm wondering if any of you employ a timer on your GFO reactor, to lock in your PO4 levels? If so

What brand GFO do you run?
For how long of a duration/day?
In what type of reactor?
What level are you trying to keep?

I'm also wondering if running intermittently might cause channeling.

Thanks

I would think the negatives outweigh the positives, channeling, clumping and stagnant anaerobic areas all being negatives. Why not just run a smaller amount?
