Rusty algae

Hi guys,

I'm not even sure if this is an algae...

Any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it? I can brush it off with a toothbrush then a week later it's back.

My phosphates are at about 0.15mg/l

Nitrates are between 3 and 4

I can't use a clean up crew cause my niger trigger just decimated whatever I put in there.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Looks like diatoms, but it’s tough to tell. How old is the tank?

A year and a half, I think I have it sorted though. I think my lights were junk, I just switched to T5 with ATI bulbs and the brown stuff is gone. Tank has never looked better honestly
