Rusty magnet cause stn?

Has anyone had a ecotech magnet split open and cause the sps to stn/rtn? If so how did you stop it, and what did you do to filter the water of the toxins? I called ecotech and they were quick to fix the pump, but now I'm left with a tank that has suffered the damage.

Polyfilter to remove toxins, but remember, GFO (Granular Ferric Oxide, ie. Oxidized Iron grains) is also 'rust' and we use it all the time. I would suspect maybe something else, glue or something in the magnet would be more likely an issue than the actual magnet.

The rare earth magnet that is used contains nickel and copper I believe

Did that cause any problems with the corals ?

I know someone that is cleaner magnet broke and he lost several coral.

I didn't notice any effect but I removed it once it stopped turning.
