Nice looking Gig!! Good job on saving it from what would have been a painful death.

I'm curious to learn more about the flow conditions for Gigs... I'm setting up a 150 that will have a dedicated little island (hole in the middle so it can get into the sand) for a Gig, and want to know how to expose it. Tagging along..

thank you . I to am wondering about flow i have read that they like strong well

The Gigantea seem healthy, not fully bleached and have a lot of long tentacles. It should do just fine in your tank. They do like a lot of flow. I think the flow you got there should be fine, but I have mine under a little higher flow.

Good luck with him. You already over what kill most of the Gigantea which is shipping stress and infection from collection and in transit to our tank.

The link below is the video of my Gigantea and the water flow that I have him under.

If I may ask, what power heads do you have running in that tank? That's a beautiful Gig.....

It is a 30 g cube 18X18X18. I use a VorTech MP10 on reefcrest mode at 100%. It is perfect for the Gigantea

Excellent... I plan on putting a gig in my 60x24x24 150 I'm setting up right now with 2x MP40s running at 100% reef crest... Should be plenty of flow to keep'em happy.

Wow, I didn't know that they liked getting their hair tossed so much lol.

Btw OrionN that's a beautiful nem and pair of clowns.

It is likely several months before the true color show. No experience on my part but another reefer reports that he got a brown yellow Gigantea anemone that turn grass green under 250W Mh after 2-3 months.
I got another Gigantea that was yellow brown initially but after about 6 weeks in my tank it still greenish brown. Here is a picture of initial and corrent color of this anemone

The best way to tell between Ocellaris and Percula is the eye. Look at the eye of my Snowflakes (Ocellaris) Vs. Onyx Percula.
Your fish with the Gigantea is an Ocellaris, the other fish's picture is too blur to tell

how about this picture
also i am wondering if i have 2 females or not the Ocellaris was the more dominant one but would to the submissive shake and the other one did nothing is there a way to tell or is it just time the one that i am going to put the picture of right now is smaller then the Ocellaris

The second fish look like a Percula. The dorsal fins is smaller (shorter) and the eyes have orange ring around the black iris.
