s3 or fz8 or fz50?

which one should i get to take good fish pic?
1. cannon powershot S3 IS - 6.0mp (it's almost 1 year old model)..
2. panasonic dmc-FZ50 - 10.1mp (most expensive of the 3)
3. panasonic dmc-FZ8 - 7.2mp (newest and least expensive of the 3)

3 of them have 12X zoom. is this the feature i need to look for to take good fish pic? i've seen some awesome pics in here that's close up.

Zoom wont necessarily get you close up pictures. Find one with a "macro" or super-macro mode

look at those features and it should help you out a bit.

I don't personally know much about those cameras. I had the older Canon Powershot Pro1. It was a much different camera I believe than the S3 IS.... if you find that they are similar then its worth more than a look IMO. ]

Read as much as you can. Independent research is your best friend.

I have seen results from the Canon S3 IS and can say that it is a very nice camera that you should be very happy with. I cannot comment on the other two.

Check out reviews at dpreview.com and dcresource.com. I know there are other picture sites but one you could check out is flickr.com. You can do a search in groups (flickr.com/groups) for say the canon S3 and see pictures taken with that camera or search any others you are interested in.

I own the Canon S2 and it is a great little camera, still have it for days I feel too lazy to pull out my XT (though that has yet to happen) I can't comment on the other two though and I agree that research is your best friend.
