there was one at a aquarium store in milwaukee, wi i saw yesterday that was at least 6 inches that had a wicked case of shell rot. i'd never seen one with or pics but it looked really bad. i hate the way they keep their mantis there - just in a display cube for inverts with nowhere to hide. he won't even do a threat display when they put a net in there. couldn't be a less happy critter!

i would have bought it cept they wanted $50 for it and in its condition, i understand that its chances of survival are pretty dismal. i tried to talk them down but the lady that was helping me was pretty clueless. i'd go back and take a pic for you guys but the shop is 2 hours from where i live.

Sheesh, that's pretty pricey. I just traded some coral to my LFS - they were asking $29.95 for their peacock.
