Sad night in my fish tank

All fish were just found dead... Figuring a couple things my landlord just had the pest guy come this morning and we cleaned the house good yesterday pretty sure this was chemical warfare on my tank.... I see some hermits and snails still alive and coral looks fine doing a water change now

Sorry to hear man.... I've seen tanks get wiped by rolling paint in the same room as the tank... Skimmer wasn't shutdown and pulled the vapors right into the tank.... I wonder if you can claim that under renters insurance...

Really sorry to hear that. Even if you had the insurance, the policies don't cover any livestock. Maybe find out what the pest guy did and where so it doesn't happen again.

That sux boss. Makes you really scratch your head sometimes about this hobby . One must really love to do it with as many set backs as we experience.

If I were u I'll talk to landlord about some reimbursement for the lost animals.. of course unless u put out a notice of pest control.. If not I would talk to him and see what he say

I work for a pest control company and any chemical that we used has a label on it that tells you where you can use it and how to use the product. And the label is the law! It will let the tec know if there needs to be prep including covering fish tanks. It is the responsibility of the tec to know this. I would request the service report and see what product was used. If they applied product in your place that says the fish tank had to be covered and still applied product in your place knowing the tank was not covered, well the pest company would be heald responsible. The property must have the information on property by law. I would go to the front desk and ask for the service report for what day they came. It should be in a pest control log book. Once you get the info the paper will say what product was used. Then look up the label of each product. If they used the product that stated the fish tank needs to be covered befor treatment then the pest company would be responsible for the damage.
