sad story must read

Oh my goodness I just happen to come across this thread.
I am so sorry for your loss. My dogs are like my children I can not imagine the pain you & your family are going thru.

one important note. Cyno (despite the name RSA) is not an algae but rather a bacteria. This is important to remeber, I do not think turning out the lights will kiil true cyno.. Having said that I am very sorry to hear about the entire sad event. I guess the lesson here is that when you dissolve the chemi clean( it should NEVER be poured straight in) make sure it mixes clear!

The LFS I purchased the Chemi Clean from has decided not to carry it in his shop any longer, there have been to many unfortunate stories with this product being used properly with adverse effects, yes we know to follow instuctions to a tee, and yes it does mix clear 99% of the time, but what if it doesn't in those few times? it can be tragic, and yes we all know cyano is not really an algae.something real hard to think about!

Very sorry for your loss. Tragic. I'm just getting into zoa's and paly's and I've heard a couple nightmares like this. I'll be extra careful.

I was pi$$ed that Chemi-clean was nuking your tank like this, what a poor product, but then read about your dog puts everything into perspective. What a terrible experience.

Sorry again.

palytoxin is extremely toxic to dogs, .033 micrograms per kilogram of body weight is lethal, that's something like one penny out of $300,000,000 dollars for perspective

very sorry for your dog, but be thankful you survived

I always appreciate post like this too remind me to be careful with my aquatic friends around my beloved dogs. It would tear me up if one of my dogs died do because I was careless with my hobby. Thanks for posting your sad story. Sorry for your loss.

Wow........this is one of the many reasons why I never let any of my 3 dogs into my fish area in my basement any longer.......even if they were to take one lick of the water......

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.......I am surprised the company that made the product didn't compensate you for something.....unless it states possible 'side effects' on the bottle....
