I feel I have done a terrible injustice to my new Sargassum Trigger. He's on the bottom, and barely hanging on. What's the proper feeding them? I have a 180G tank, coral and fish. Water test 5 days ago was good. I'm still pretty new to all this, even though the tank has been going for 1.5 years, I allow a aquarium service handle a lot. I told the place where I purchased the Trigger my setup, as far as other fish, he said he would be fine. I may be tang heavy. Here's the fish...... Foxface, hippo, 2 clowns, damsil, chromis, sailfin, scopus, Australian Harlaqin tusk (I think it is), naso tang, khole tang (which I now haven't seen either of) I lost a new copperband to. I think I saw the scopus being a butt towards my trigger. I don't know.....I love the fish, I feel I'm putting the wrong fish together.
Sad....very sad here. Sargassum Trigger help please

He ate some, no.....I don't have a quarantine tank. Losing him really sucks.

How long has he been in the tank, they are not as aggressive and can be somewhat shy compared to other triggers. But they are still triggers, and usually somewhat tuff. If it happened right after you put him in the tank there could have been a number of mishandlings along the way. If you've been able to acclimate a sailfin, hippo, foxface, and harlequin to your tank; you are doing something right. Sometimes you just have to ride it out, as long as no one is picking on him trying to remove him to an isolation tank could just make it worse. Triggers eat big chunky food; krill is ok, but shrimp, scallop, squid chopped up from the grocery store; your harlequin will love this also.
OMG! I feel like crap......I don't have a quarantine tank! I'm doing this stuff all wrong. Man, I loved this fish. He had a damaged eye when I bought him, and no one wanted him because of it. We did! Now i've killed him. This sucks. Time to study hard about all of this, or exit the hobby.

Take a step back and read. Just because you didn't know about quarantining doesn't mean its the end of the world. Reef central and the internet are great resources. Be proud that you actually tried to save the fish, when most would not. In the future you can make different choices.
