Saddlebacks and coloration

Amphiprion Polymnus. I was unfruitful in my search for B&W Occ. so I went for what was sold to me online as, a black and white saddleback. Researching further I notice that all varities of the Saddleback all have the same scientific name with no variances. I love the look of them and they immediately took to my Haddoni which I love, but do these fish turn darker as they mature from their somewhat brown state?

IMO the Black variant is black from verry young. The regular saddle Does develope alot of black but keeps the orange face.

I have one that is about two inches and arrived fairly dark brown. After being in the Nem for about a week and in my tank with the current diet she has started to turn a much darker brown/black. As for the small one I just purchased he has darkened up, but is fairly brown. I like the orange face and I am hoping they eventually darken up. Not sure if its a coincidence or the environment/ diet that is doing this or just genetcs.

all of the above EXCEPT coincidence.
Generally speaking, all larger (female) Clownfish develop darker coloration than their male counterpart.
Most individuals of all species develop dark areas as they mature as long as environmental conditions, diet and genetics cooperate.
