i just set up my 10 gallon coral propogation tank like 5 min ago, i put around 1 lb of live sand from the 55 gallon in it, 1 lb or live rock, and 8 gallons of water from my 55, and 2 gallons of fresh RO water, i have a red hifin goby (or sumthing like that) on hold at natures best, do you guys think it is safe to add him around 7 o clock tonight?? rick said it should be fine with no need for a cycle?

thanks

I don't think you'll have a big cycle, but you will have a smaller one. Everything has to balance itself out.
The bacteria in your sandbed has populated itself rate of bioload from your 55. Any less or more bioload in your 10 will cause a small change. I guess it'd be fine to put him in... just test your water in that 10 gallon (and topoff) daily. :)

What kind of filtration do you have in the tank?
If you add the fish, I'd monitor the Ammonia levels. You should be able to take water from your 55 and add it to the 10 to dilute any ammonia etc. Youââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll probably be fine, but Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢d be very careful.

ok so i took 9 gallons from my 55 and 3 gallons of new saltwater and put it into the 10 gallon around 1 o clock, then i added a antenna goby around 6, with about 2 lbs of live rock from my 55, tommarow if the levals test ok i will add some lower light corals(star polyps, and kenya tree corals) right now the only lighting i have is 2 bright desk lamps but that should be ok for the corals for a couple of days right?? in about a week i will be getting 1x96 watt sunpaq light....

my emperor 400 that i have running on the 10 gallon holds 2 gallons, this morning i added 5 kenya trees to the tank and 2 frags of star polyps, all are open and doing great, i also got a free hitchhiker crab (colored like an emerald, shaped like a porcylin crab, any clue???)
