My 3 year old Oceanic 90 gallon (48â€ÂL x 18â€ÂW x 24â€ÂH) glass tank has a 10†glass brace in the center.
It severely reduces the amount of light that enters the tank. The top and underside of the glass brace is usually covered with salt creep or splashes from the powerheads, hang-on skimmer etc.
I have a 48†light fixture which includes two 150W 14K MH HQI bulbs and 2x54W HO T5 Actinics.
Can I remove the brace, which is siliconed to the front and back glass panes without risk of the tank breaking?
The tank has plastic trim around the entire perimeter of the tank.
Thanks.
