Safe to use old Elos tank?

Hello everyone,

I seem to be suffering from a relapse of the reefkeeping bug. :spin1: I have an Elos System 70 55-gallon tank and sump I purchased new in 2009 and used until 2013. The aquarium has been dry for about 3 years now. It's always been kept in my home office, never in a garage or basement where it would be subject to wild temperatures. I live in an arid climate, in case it matters.

In your opinion, am I safe to proceed with a new setup in this tank, or should I just lie down until the feeling passes?

I don't know if the silicone dries out, but slowly fill it up in your garage and leave it until you're comfortable moving it into the house. That's what I would do :)

It should be fine. I don't know how long tanks sit in stores and warehouses but I bet some of them sit for years before they are used.
