Sailfin blenny, Reef Safe?

There are certain fish which you have to be cautious with in a reef tank, but the Sailfin Blenny should be ok. To my knowledge, most Blennies are reef-safe.

I have heard that they can sometimes nip on sps, i just dont know if anyone has had that happen to them.

I had one for years in a mixed reef and he totally ignored corals. A bit cryptic though.

Most blennies are reef safe. Sailfin blennies are reef safe.
You may see them "nip" at your corals but upon closer observation, they are often eating some algae that may be stuck on the coral.
Tribal blennies are NOT reef safe - I learned recently.

Just wanted to say, that I like your screenname :).

My starry and midas blennies are reef safe. I haven't read of any anecdoctal reports of blennies causing problems, in fact (except for the tribal blennies from the previous post).

Many escenius blennies, including bicolors, Linear blennies and even the tailspot blennies are fairly frequently reported to eat coral. The salarias/atrosalarias (lawnmowers/sailfins/starries) blennies are much safer.

Sometimes blennies are reef safe, sometimes they aren't. It's a crap-shoot like with dwarf angelfish.
