Sailfin not eating

So I got a sailfin tang to help with algae on rocks and I put a strip on a clip but it won't touch it it grazes on the rocks and glass all day acting normal and everything just worried that it's not eating the strip I tried tying it to a rock too. Just wondering if it's ok that it's just eating the algae off the glass and rocks or if I should try something else as this is my first tang. Thanks

If you have enough algae on your rocks, it should be fine. Some tangs need to learn to go after the Nori by watching other fish eat it first.

If you're worried that it isn't getting enough algae, feed it spirulina.

Is it eating the other food you throw into the tank?

Not eating anything else.. I feed pellets to my other fish but he just spits it out. The other fish attack the nori when I put it in there though
