Sailfin tang owners, check in..

any relevant info.... how long have you had it, how big, any aggression issues, etc etc ? other tangs in tank?

I have a 5" Desjardini purchased from LA about 2 months now, in my DT 1 month.

Been aggressive towards my achilles. I think I will rehome it soon.

The desjardini in my avatar was beautiful but too aggressive for my tastes, I don't think I'd get another. I had him for several years first in a 90 and later in a 180. He wasn't that bad at first but got worse as he got bigger. He made adding angels and butterflies after him very difficult. I havent owned very many tangs though, so I can't say he was any worse or better than any other tang.

I have one that is 4-1/2" or so and he is housed with a Tommi and a orange shoulder in a 180g at the moment but will be in a 220g this weekend. There was a little aggression when the other tangs were added but that quickly went away. You could always catch and reacclimate him to your tank and the aggression shouldn't be there anymore

i have a pacific sailfin for about 2 years now, started 6" now about 7.5", 1.75" thick, and yes he looks like a puffer lol. he is the largest and one of the oldest in the tank so any fish i added in became an easy target.

what saves the day is the magical "egg crate divider". i have it up for about 10 months over the period before finishing my stocking list. not pretty but gets the job done. i dug 3 window holes in the center for everyone except sailfin can pass thru. now everyone get along quite peacefully. i have 2 yt, 1 pbt, 1 rbt. large cbb(had to hand feed from a tube everyday) regal angel and some other beauties.....
